As of the first quarter, 14,946 children are registered for adoption in Ukraine. This was written by the head of the State Service of Ukraine for Children's Affairs Petro Dobromilsky, reports UNN.

As of the 1st quarter of 2025, 290 orphans and children deprived of parental care were adopted in Ukraine. All children were adopted by citizens of Ukraine. 6 of them are children with disabilities, the report says.
According to which age categories were minors adopted:
- under 1 year — 35 children;
- 1–2 years — 52 children;
- 3–5 years — 85 children;
- 6–10 years — 78 children;
- 11–17 years — 40 children.
According to the data for the 1st quarter of 2025, 14,946 children are registered for local adoption, of which 11,154 have already been placed in family forms of upbringing.

The Verkhovna Rada adopted as a whole a draft law on expanding the list of persons who cannot be adopters. In particular, adopters cannot be persons with mental disorders, who have been convicted of crimes against the foundations of national security of Ukraine, have committed domestic violence, or are citizens of an aggressor state.
