Zelenskyy expects the Ukrainian team to be able to start producing Patriot missiles by the end of 2026

President Zelenskyy announced plans to start producing Patriot missiles by the end of 2026. Production of Aster-30 missiles for SAMP/T is also planned.

Ukraine expects that production of missiles for the Patriot system could begin by the end of 2026. This statement was made by Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a conversation with the media on Wednesday, July 15, reports UNN.
"We expect to have the technical capability to produce our missiles, American missiles, by our own forces by the end of 2026," Zelenskyy said.
The head of state added that the team will not limit itself to just missiles for the Patriot. Plans for the near future include the production of Aster-30 missiles for the SAMP/T as well.
In addition, the President of Ukraine explained that official Kyiv is currently working on anti-ballistic capabilities in three directions:
- through the PURL program;
- bilateral agreements with partners; obtaining a license for the production of Patriot missiles.
In parallel with this, our country, together with eight allied states, is working on creating the European anti-ballistic system FREYA.

The United States has begun the process of issuing licenses to Ukraine for the production of Patriot missiles.

On July 13, Ukraine and nine other European countries signed a declaration on the creation of the Anti-Ballistic Coalition and the implementation of the FREYJA project. The company Fire Point is involved in the development of the system from Ukraine.
Co-founder and chief designer of Fire Point, Denys Shtilerman, said that the company is ready to transfer technologies and open weapons production on the territory of partner countries. This step will allow accelerating the full launch of the anti-ballistic shield.
