Zelensky: Ukraine needs an institution of multiple citizenship
Kyiv • UNN
President Zelenskyy presented a “Resilience Plan” to the Verkhovna Rada, where he proposed to introduce the institution of multiple citizenship. He emphasized that Ukrainians have become a global nation, and this should be used in the interests of the state.
Ukraine needs an institution of multiple citizenship. This should not be limited, but directed in the interests of Ukraine. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his speech in the Verkhovna Rada during the presentation of the "Resilience Plan", UNN reports.
The point of the Sustainability Plan is "Human Capital". In fact, it is about state respect for each and every one of our millions of people. We must create all the conditions for Ukrainians - no matter where they are - to truly feel like Ukrainians, to work in Ukraine, with Ukraine, for Ukraine, to maintain a genuine and strong emotional connection with Ukraine, with the entire Ukrainian nation, with its achievements, tasks
Zelenskyy noted that such conditions are needed for every citizen, for everyone who wants to connect their fate with Ukraine.
Ukraine needs an institution of multiple citizenship. We must recognize this reality: Ukrainians are already a global nation. And we should not try to limit this, but to channel it in the interests of Ukraine
According to him, the annexes to the Resilience Plan will elaborate on this particular point:
- Ukraine's policy on reconstruction. Because we need to restore not just certain buildings and facilities, but people's lives.
- National standard for barrier-free access. And this applies not only to infrastructure. Ukraine's digitalization policy is about removing exactly the kind of barriers that not only reduced access to public services for different groups in our society, but also made Ukraine more divided. Digitalization adds to the equality of all citizens in Ukraine. We must and will continue to develop this. Ukrainian Action, Ukrainian Mriya, and all other state and civic digital services will continue to be strengthened.
- Education. We need a new and, in fact, extraordinary approach to education. In addition to all the usual functions of the educational sector, we must ensure the realization of another task - the preservation of Ukrainian children, millions of Ukrainian children who are now living in different countries, in the field of Ukrainian culture, Ukrainian national existence. The future of our country largely depends on the proper fulfillment of this task.
- We need to modernize and make our social policy as effective as possible. Health care policy should be aimed at the real achievement of national goals to save lives and increase the life expectancy of Ukrainians. Ukraine needs a special childhood policy - specific measures that help parenthood in Ukraine, support families and family upbringing, and enable children to grow up in a safe and modern social environment.
- Our policy on the church and religious organizations. Provided that the secular nature of state institutions is preserved, we must and can develop a partnership between the state and the church, between the state and religious communities. In Ukraine, there is a globally important institutional example of such cooperation, the Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, and on the basis of this institution a dialogue has been formed between the state and all religious communities of Ukraine. Within this dialogue, we can determine which models of greater cooperation can strengthen Ukraine and Ukrainians, our spiritual independence and social work in the Ukrainian state.
"Of course, we are not talking about the Moscow church. The time of those who sanctify terror is over," Zelensky said.
