Experts claim that NABU collects information about secret SBU employees without legal grounds. This poses a threat to national security, especially due to suspicions that some Bureau detectives are cooperating with the Russian Federation.

"While the SBU destroys Russian refineries, NABU collects information about its employees," – the expert accused part of the Bureau of working for the Russian Federation

Against the backdrop of successful special operations by the Security Service of Ukraine to destroy Russian oil refineries and industry, NABU is actively collecting data on secret SBU employees. This practice could pose a threat to Ukraine's national security, especially given that some of the Bureau's detectives are suspected of cooperating with the Russian Federation. Political expert Taras Zahorodnii wrote about this.

Thus, he commented on the published letters that NABU sends to state institutions, demanding lists of secret SBU employees.

"NABU employees are suspected of cooperating with the Russian Federation, but at the same time continue to collect information about secret SBU employees. Although it is the Service that is responsible for the operations after which Russian oil refineries burn. This practice of the Bureau creates serious threats to national security," he noted.

At the same time, the expert reported that there is no clear legal justification for such requests – just a mass collection of information.

"Completely logical questions arise. On what basis is this data being collected? What is it needed for? Who will have access to it? And to whom can this information be transferred?" the expert asked.

He emphasized a pattern: as soon as Ukraine intensifies strikes on military targets on the territory of Russia, NABU and SAP suddenly begin to actively take an interest in defense industry enterprises or torpedo structures directly responsible for operations against the Russian Federation. In his opinion, all this indicates that the fight against corruption has long ceased to be the main function of NABU and SAP. Instead, we see systemic pressure on the state apparatus and the defense sector, he noted.

"NABU needs an urgent complete reboot. Such bodies should employ people who have proven their loyalty to the state, in particular those who have served in the army and understand the value of the country's security," the expert emphasized.

In turn, former advisor to the director of the State Bureau of Investigation, lawyer Oleh Shram also drew attention to the fact that the illegal collection of information is not just an abuse of power by NABU, from which a lot of data has "leaked", but also creates serious threats to national security.

"We know of many leaks of information from NABU through journalists, public figures, deputies, etc. It is unknown where this information could end up, so the collection, and especially the receipt of such information by NABU, poses not only a potential but also a real threat to our national security and the ability of the SBU to fulfill their assigned tasks," he concluded.

As previously reported, NABU sent letters to state bodies demanding detailed information about secret SBU employees. The Bureau is asking ministries and agencies to provide detailed information about SBU employees for the period from 2025 to the present.
