The president said that out of the 10 planned Brigades, the West fully equipped only 2.5. Zelensky responded to calls to reduce the mobilization age, noting the lack of weapons for existing units.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the calls of some partners to lower the mobilization age, noting that Ukraine asked to equip 10 military brigades to counter Russia, but the West fully equipped only 2.5 brigades. Zelensky stated this in an interview with Sky News, reports UNN.

"If there are soldiers, then we need to give them weapons, otherwise we will lose them. There will never be enough reserves. I'm not going to talk about some leaders ' proposal for mobilization right now... I'm just asking them one question: What do you want? To kill them? Because there aren't enough weapons. You want us to mobilize young people, but what weapons will they fight with? Many people talk about it, but in politics it's always like this. With the mobilization, we have such a situation that we have 10 brigades, but our partners did not help provide weapons to such brigades. I told our partners that we need these weapons, but today neither Europe nor the United States has done so. As of today, only 2.5 brigades are manned," Zelensky said.

He stressed that the situation at the front depends on the number of equipped, armed brigades.

"The situation in the East depends only on such brigades. None of the EU and US generals thought that such a war would happen. None of them understood how we fought. How can such complex tasks be carried out without controlling the air or fleet? If European or American officials have an idea about the age of mobilization, I want to ask our partners to do their job, and we will do our own," Zelensky added.

Recall

Earlier, Zelensky statedthat only reserve units were created in Ukraine. Their core is the experienced military, around which mobilized fighters are formed.
