Ukrainian photojournalist Yulia Kochetova won the Open Format category at the regional stage of the World Press Photo-2024 competition. Her impressive war-related photos were recognized by the jury among thousands of competitors.
This year, 61,062 images from 3,851 photographers from 130 countries were submitted to the contest.
I wish these photos had never happened. But the war will start again and again, and we are all looking for an antidote. Why do we always need a scar to remember something? But if you had never lost, how could you understand the value of life? We are highlighting the scars, making a document. We serve people who need help, people in action and people at war - the pain, loss, horror, hope and victory of life is extremely important to remember. Let's leave it here - just to remember
