Former Minister of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov believes that Donald Trump seeks to end the war in Ukraine for the sake of the Nobel Peace Prize. Trump positions himself as a mediator, not taking any side, and tries various methods to achieve negotiations.
US President Donald Trump is interested in ending the war in Ukraine because he has an ambition to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. And this is only possible with the cessation of this war. This was stated by former Minister of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov in an interview with Radio Svoboda, UNN reports.

As Reznikov noted, Trump chose the role of a mediator and adheres to this position, not taking either side.
If you look at the meeting in the Oval Office, he very clearly defined his position. He says: I am a mediator. He is not on anyone's side. He says: I am a mediator, I want and can help you in various ways... He still, I think, has the motive to get the Nobel Peace Prize, and this is only possible in a situation where the war in Ukraine truly ends.
However, according to him, Trump is moving by trial and error. However, he is not inclined to admit mistakes in his attempts to bring Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table to end the war.
According to Reznikov, there are different tactics for conducting negotiations: from a position of strength, from a position of seeking interests, from a position of seeking compromises. In solving the problem of the war in Ukraine, Trump is trying different methods.
Compromise options are most common in business. But here it's war. There's no simple story here where everything is easily taken and resolved. But the Americans' tools are still force, depriving something.
