The White House will soon present an aid package to Ukraine that does not require congressional approval. John Kirby calls on Congress to approve new funding for Ukraine's current needs.

The White House plans to announce this month the latest aid package for Ukraine, which does not require approval of funding by the US Congress. This was stated by John Kirby, Strategic Communications Coordinator for the National Security Council, UNN reports with reference to the White House press service

Kirby reminded that Pentagon Comptroller Michael McCord warned in a letter to the heads of the relevant congressional committees that the remaining funds have already been used to replenish US military stocks and replace what the US sends to Ukraine.

We are planning another aid package for Ukraine later this month.  However, when it is finalized, as Comptroller McCord made clear in his memo to Congress today, we will no longer have the authority to replenish the budget

- said Kirby.

He once again called on Congress to act without delay and approve new funding for Ukraine.

Ukraine still needs our help.  And it is high time for Congress to act to stand up for freedom and democracy, protecting our own national security interests, which are severely compromised here

- Kirby pointed out.
