This morning, on July 24, the car of Andrey Torgashov, deputy head of the radio center of the Russian military satellite communications unit, exploded in Moscow. The Russian official's legs were blown off. His wife was also injured.  The cause of the explosion is said to be the detonation of an explosive device installed in the car. This was reported by the Russian media, UNN reports.

As ASTRA has found out, the explosion in northern Moscow occurred in a Toyota Land Cruiser belonging to Andrey Torgashov, deputy head of the PDRC of the 33790 military unit in the Moscow region. 

According to publicly available data, the military unit 33790 is the 89th satellite communications center of the Russian Armed Forces . 

The explosion occurred in a parking lot. Reportedly, the shopkeeper's legs were blown off. 

According to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the car explosion was caused by the detonation of an explosive device installed in the car. 

As the soldier was getting into the car, an explosive device went off. The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that the explosive device was installed in the car in advance. 

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that a criminal case had been opened.
