Northern part of Donetsk region is without power, automatic protection system at Sloviansk TPP activated

Automatic protection at Slavyanskaya TPP caused a power outage in the northern part of Donetsk Oblast, but DTEK later restored power supply.
Due to the activation of automatic protection at Slavyanskaya TPP, the population of northern Donetsk the settlements of the northern part of Donetsk region were left without electricity, said the acting Ihor Moroz, the acting head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, according to UNN.
The automatic protection system at Sloviansk thermal power plant has been triggered. As a result, 110 kV and 330 kV power grids were de-energized. The settlements of the northern part of the region are without electricity supply
Currently, DTEK specialists DTEK and Slavyanskaya TPP are currently investigating the reasons for the protection. Once the causes are determined, the grid will be restored or powered according to another scheme.

Update As of 16.00, electricity supply to the northern part of Donetsk region has been restored. of Donetsk region has been restored. Voltage has been restored at Slavyanskaya TPP. At present, DTEK is gradually reconnecting consumers who were cut off from electricity. As a reminder, on December 8, the Russian army shelled one of the thermal power plants again, located in the frontline area. There were no casualties, however the plant's equipment was damaged.
