Iranian military shelled a cargo ship passing near the Strait of Hormuz. As a result of the attack, the vessel was hit on the starboard side, Reuters reports, citing two U.S. officials, writes UNN.

According to the agency's interlocutors, Iran carried out the shelling of the vessel. At the same time, the officials spoke on condition of anonymity, as they are not authorized to comment on the incident publicly.
The vessel sustained damage off the coast of Oman
As reported by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), the vessel was struck by a projectile 7.5 nautical miles southeast of the port of Dahit in Oman while passing through the Strait of Hormuz area.
Information about casualties or the extent of damage to the vessel has not been released yet.
