A deputy of the regional council and a deputy mayor were detained in Lviv region for extorting UAH 1.2 million from an entrepreneur. The criminals were caught while receiving a bribe for allegedly helping him win a tender.

In Lviv region, a deputy of the regional council and a deputy mayor extorted UAH 1.2 million from an entrepreneur, promising to help him win a tender for construction work, reports the SBI.

As UNN was informed by its own sources, it is a deputy of the Lviv Regional Council Volodymyr Domansky.

SBI officers detained a deputy of the Lviv Regional Council and his accomplice, a deputy mayor of one of the region's territorial communities. They tried to deceive a local private entrepreneur and fraudulently take UAH 1 million 200 thousand from him. The fraudsters promised the entrepreneur to help him win a tender for construction work in the region, but he refused

After the entrepreneur won on his own, the criminals decided to pretend that they had helped him and began to demand a share of the profits in an intrusive manner. The SBI detained a deputy of the regional council and a deputy mayor of one of the united territorial communities while they were receiving USD 25 thousand and UAH 190 thousand.

They were served with a notice of suspicion of fraud committed by a group of persons on an especially large scale. The sanction of the article provides for up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property
