Finland has closed all of its automobile border checkpoints with Russia for two weeks starting on November 30, citing national security risks associated with Russia's hybrid operations. Only rail freight services through Vainikkala remain open.

An application for international protection cannot be submitted at checkpoints located on the land border between the two countries, specified in the press service.

According to the Finnish Customs, the only communication between Russia and Finland will continue rail cargo transportation along the land border through the Vainikkala checkpoint.
