KYIV. February 14. UNN.

The Pecherskyi District Court will determine in which court the interrogation of a witness in the Yevhen Shcherban murder case can take place at the stage of the pre-trial investigation. This was stated today at a briefing for journalists by the representative of the state prosecution, Oleh Pushkar, reports a correspondent.

The state prosecutor said that the prosecution investigator filed a motion with the Pecherskyi Court regarding the interrogation of a witness in the case of the murder of Ye. Shcherban.

“I understand that this (the interrogation of the witness – Ed.) will most likely take place in the Court of Appeal... The next interrogation could be as early as tomorrow,” he clarified.

At the same time, he assured that the next witness will definitely not be interrogated by Judge Oksana Tsarevych. Also, he is not sure where the investigative actions will be conducted, whether in Kharkiv or in Kyiv.

O. Pushkar noted that as of today, there are at least several witnesses who will give testimony at the stage of the pre-trial investigation. However, he did not specify exactly how many such people will be interrogated.

“At the moment, there are at least several people, and further on in the course of the investigation, we will determine the rest. The investigation is currently underway, and we will decide how many witnesses need to be interrogated in the course of the pre-trial investigation at court hearings,” he said.

O. Pushkar emphasized that the prosecutor's office does not intend to delay the investigation into the murder of Ye. Shcherban.

According to him, the prosecutor's office will try to complete the pre-trial investigation as quickly as possible, as provided for by criminal procedural legislation.

As a reminder, at yesterday's hearing, O. Tsarevych ruled to interrogate a witness in the Ye. Shcherban murder case without the participation of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko in the interrogation.

"To recognize the possibility of interrogating a witness at the stage of pre-trial investigation," the investigating judge announced the decision, while reminding once again that Yu. Tymoshenko had been repeatedly invited to the court hearing, had the opportunity to attend on February 6 and 7, as well as February 13, but ignored all invitations.

After this, O. Tsarevych began the interrogation of the witness, who stated that he had no personal relationship with Yu. Tymoshenko, who is suspected of organizing the murder of Ye. Shcherban.

I. Maryenkov noted that Ryabin and Kushnir stayed at the "Natsionalnyi" hotel. "I met Milchenko (Matros), Kushnir, and Tymoshenko on the (hotel - Ed.) floor. They were talking there," he said.

"Kushnir said that Lazarenko and Tymoshenko are one and the same to them. He (Kushnir - Ed.) said that Yulia would resolve all financial issues for us...", he noted.

"Later I realized that these were contract killings," the witness noted.
