Deregistering a child from their place of residence has become easier — consent from one of the parents can now be obtained through "Diia"

In Ukraine, deregistering a child from their place of residence has become easier — the consent of one parent can now be obtained online, UNN reports, citing the Diia government services portal.

A child under 14 can now be deregistered from their place of residence online via the Diia portal. One parent can provide consent to deregister the child remotely — their personal presence during the process is no longer required 

Parents can use the service if:

✔️the child is under 14; from the age of 14, the application must be submitted independently;

✔️the child has a Ukrainian birth certificate;

✔️both parents are Ukrainian citizens;

✔️they have a tax identification number and Diia.Signature/e-signature.

How does it work?

After logging in to the Diia portal:

1️⃣Go to Services  → Change of place of residence → Deregister from the place of residence.

2️⃣Check your details. If necessary, update them in your personal account.

3️⃣Indicate whether you have children and whether you are a person liable for military service.

4️⃣Choose whom you want to deregister: only the child or yourself together with the child.

5️⃣Check the address where you are currently registered.

6️⃣If you are deregistering the child, check their details and provide the details of the other parent.

7️⃣The other parent must provide consent online.

8️⃣Sign the application with a Diia.Signature or electronic signature and pay the administrative fee.

Important for persons liable for military service: you can deregister only the child. The service for simultaneously deregistering yourself and the child is currently unavailable online for persons liable for military service, but it can be obtained at a CNAP
