Ukraine has increased compensation and the duration of support for employers who hire IDPs, with higher amounts now tied to the minimum wage.

On January 1, Ukraine increased compensation to employers for hiring specialists from among IDPs and IDPs with disabilities, UNN reports.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has increased the total duration of compensation for expenses from two to three months for employers for hiring internally displaced persons (IDPs) and up to 6 months for employing IDPs with disabilities. The amount of compensation will also change. Previously, they were paid based on the amount of UAH 6,700 per month, but now such compensations are tied to the minimum wage, which will be UAH 7,100 from January 1, and UAH 8,000 from April 1.

In other words, if an employer hires an IDP, in 2024  they will be entitled to compensation of up to UAH 24 thousand per person. If it is an IDP with a disability, such payments may amount to up to 48 thousand hryvnias for each respective employee.
