The Odesa Regional State Administration's Transparency and Accountability Working Group canceled flawed tenders worth UAH 169 million, including overpriced purchases such as Spanish Christmas trees and candy, to prevent financial losses and support soldiers instead.

Yesterday, on December 13, a regular meeting of the Transparency and Accountability Working Group was held to review another batch of flawed tenders. In total, the working group has already canceled tenders worth UAH 169 million. This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional Administrative Body Oleh Kiper on his tg-channel , UNN reported.

More than UAH 169 million - this is the amount of money that communities in Odesa Oblast could have lost due to overpayments in the announced procurement. And this is the amount of money that the working group "Transparency and Accountability" at the regional administration blocked in order to return it back to the budgets for more rational spending. First of all, to support our soldiers

- he said.

Kiper added that at the meeting of the group, together with representatives of local governments, the security forces and the public, another questionable tender was considered. "In particular, the purchase of Spanish plane trees for 100 thousand, cocoa for almost half a million and sweets for 795 thousand. During this meeting, we managed to cancel tenders for more than 63 million hryvnias," he said, adding that the materials were collected and sent to law enforcement agencies. To recap A few months ago, a working group "Transparency and Accountability" was launched at the Odesa Regional State Administration on Kiper's initiative. The working group included representatives of regional departments of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Prosecutor's Office and the National Police. The Bureau of Economic Security and the NABU also participated. The working group, among other things, monitors the proper use of funds allocated from the fund for liquidation of the consequences of armed aggression, analyzes procurement information, etc.
