Qatar announced a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas from 7 a.m. on November 24, and the release of the first group of hostages at 4 p.m. on the same day as part of the agreement

Qatar's Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari said that the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas will come into effect on Friday, November 24, at 7 a.m. local time, UNN reports citing a statement issued by the country's Foreign Ministry.

"The humanitarian pause in Gaza will begin at 7 a.m. on Friday, November 24. (...) The first group of hostages will be released from Gaza at 4 p.m. on Friday, November 24. The list of hostages to be released has been handed over to the Israeli security services," said Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari.

He pointed out that numerous meetings and telephone conversations were held in Doha to discuss the plan for implementing the ceasefire agreement with the participation of Egyptian counterparts and both sides.

the Israeli government, following a special meeting on November 22, approved a plan that provides for the return of at least 50 hostages from the Gaza Strip within four days, after which the military operation in the enclave will resume. [Reuters reportedthat Israel and Hamas have agreed to repeat the hostage swap deal. According to the agency, Hamas promised to release 50 prisoners held in the Gaza Strip by the end of the month in exchange for 150 Palestinian prisoners.

Initially, the start of the agreement was announced for Thursday, but later it was postponed to the day.
