WBC, WBA and IBF champion Oleksandr Usyk decided to leave all his belts, but is not leaving the sport. The boxer called it a conscious decision for new opportunities.
WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk has decided to vacate all his heavyweight championship belts. However, according to the boxer, he is not leaving the sport. Usyk announced this on Instagram, reports UNN.

"Good afternoon everyone. Today is Friday - nice weather and a good day to say that I want to leave all my belts that I currently hold, to make them free, so that the guys who are in line for them can box. Friends, I am leaving the belts, but I am not leaving the sport, because I have a 'last dance'," Usyk said.
He added that this is a conscious decision that will open up new opportunities for him.
"This is not the end of the story. The continuation lies ahead," Usyk noted.

Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk secured a victory over Dutchman Rico Verhoeven in a bout that took place on May 24 in Egypt. The fight ended early at the end of the 11th round.
WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman stated that the organization's current heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk is obligated to defend his title against Agit Kabayel, otherwise he risks losing the belt.
Earlier, Kabayel had already called out Usyk for a fight on social media.
While Kabayel prepares for a possible future bout, Usyk is spending time playing computer games.
