The official said the trucks were among 200 trucks carrying humanitarian aid that entered the Egyptian side of the crossing on Friday morning.

In addition, at least seven fuel trucks entered the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt on Friday, a CNN correspondent on the scene also reported, after an expected truce between Israel and Hamas appeared to have taken effect.

Israel's Coordinating Organization for Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) said in a statement that four gasoline trucks and four tanks of cooking gas entered the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing.

"The fuel and cooking gas are intended for the operation of critical humanitarian infrastructure in the Gaza Strip" and were approved by the Israeli government as part of the ceasefire, COGAT added.

It is unclear what other types of aid have been allowed into Gaza so far.
