"Kamyanska Sich" National Park Celebrates its 6th Anniversary. During the Occupation, Russians Stole Property, the Director Was Held Captive. Losses from the Actions of the Russians Exceed 107 Billion UAH.

The "Kamyanska Sich" National Nature Park in the Beryslav district of Kherson region celebrates its 6th anniversary since its creation - during the Russian invasion, the park's territory was occupied. This was reported by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine in Telegram, UNN reports.

As stated, during the occupation, the Russians stole or destroyed almost all of the park's property. Some of the park's employees left for the territory controlled by Ukraine - others remained on the territory of the national park until the very liberation from the occupiers. Director Serhiy Skoryk went through Russian captivity and torture: after his release, he helped people get out of the occupied territories.
Reserve employees independently extinguished fires caused by hostilities.
The park is still in the zone of active hostilities, suffering from constant rocket and artillery shelling and drone attacks by Russian occupiers. These hostile actions cause irreparable damage to the unique natural complexes and objects of the Park, threatening its biodiversity and ecological value. According to preliminary estimates, the damage caused to the natural territories of the park is more than UAH 107 billion
