Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, continuing his visit to the country, as he announced on social media on Wednesday, UNN reports.
Thank you to Crown Prince Haakon of Norway for the meeting
According to him, he informed the Crown Prince about the constant Russian strikes and the situation at the front. "Russia continues its terror against people and life. That is why, together with our partners, we are doing everything possible to strengthen air defense and enhance protection," the President noted.
"Together with Norway, we are building a strategic partnership in the field of security and defense. We are interested in a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership that will strengthen the defense capabilities of both Ukraine and Norway, in particular in the development and implementation of the Drone Deal," Zelenskyy emphasized.
In particular, yesterday Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre signed a corresponding declaration, which also marks the beginning of work on the Drone Deal.
"I thank Norway, the government, and all the people for supporting Ukraine. I am grateful for the allocation of 9 billion euros in support for this year. This is important for Ukraine," the President stated.
Zelenskyy also announced that he met with the Speaker of the Storting of Norway and leaders of political parties. "We discussed with the parliamentarians the work on preparing the Drone Deal between our countries. It is important to realize this opportunity to mutually strengthen ourselves. We also separately touched upon the issue of creating a Special Tribunal for the crime of Russia's aggression against Ukraine and the necessary steps for its launch. Justice is needed," the President noted.
