President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting regarding Ukraine's diplomatic work in the Middle East and the Gulf region. Separate discussions focused on the results of the work of Ukrainian military expert teams helping to strengthen the defense component, UNN reports with reference to the official Telegram channel of the Head of State.

According to Zelenskyy, strikes from Iran against the territory of the United Arab Emirates took place the day before. The President also stated there has been a noticeable increase in military tension in the Gulf region.
"Unfortunately, reckless strikes from Iran against the territory of the Emirates took place yesterday, and there is also a noticeable increase in military tension in the Gulf. Such steps by Iran can only be condemned,"
He emphasized that stabilizing the situation in the region is important not only for security but also for the global economy and social sphere.
"It is important that security increases, as much in the rest of the world depends on the speed of stabilizing the situation and guaranteeing security in this region. This applies to security, the economy, and social issues,"
According to him, events in the Gulf region can affect the cost of living in many countries.
Ukraine is preparing new solutions
Zelenskyy reported that Ukraine is contributing to stabilizing the situation and establishing security. He defined tasks for the Ukrainian diplomatic team regarding bilateral work with the Gulf countries and the region as a whole.
The President noted that Ukraine is preparing new solutions and plans to develop security partnerships.
According to Zelenskyy, specific areas of work were proposed to Bahrain today. The teams of the two states are to work out the details.
"We are also monitoring the implementation of previous agreements with the countries of the region based on the principle of reciprocity in cooperation,"
Zelenskyy also emphasized that Ukraine continues to work with partners to ensure the necessary strengthening of the state.

In early April 2026, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced cooperation with Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain. Ukraine will receive air defense systems for its energy sector, oil, and diesel in exchange for military expertise.
