The initiative did not receive the necessary support - 46 senators voted "for", 51 - "against".
Democratic Senator John Fetterman joined Republicans and opposed the bill, while Republican Rand Paul supported Democrats.
Senate Democratic Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Democrats plan to continue bringing similar initiatives to a vote every week.

Some Republicans admit the possibility of supporting restrictions in the future. In particular, Senators Thom Tillis and Lisa Murkowski stated that they are ready to consider the issue of authorization to use force if the conflict lasts more than 60 days.
At the same time, the leadership of the Republican Party does not rule out such a step after 90 days of hostilities.
