Ukraine has signed an updated free trade agreement with the countries of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), which opens up new opportunities for business, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said on Tuesday in Telegram, UNN writes.

According to him, this is a restart of the 2010 agreement, adapted to the new reality.
"It opens up new opportunities for Ukrainian businesses in large markets with high purchasing power," the Prime Minister noted.
The new agreement, he said, includes updated sections on trade facilitation, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, government procurement, technical cooperation and intellectual property protection. New chapters have also been added: e-commerce, support for small and medium-sized businesses, trade and sustainable development.
The agreement, Shmyhal said, also includes modern rules on the origin of goods. "And this opens the way to deeper integration into European supply chains," he said.
In addition, Shmyhal announced the signing of separate updates to agreements with Norway, Iceland and Switzerland in the field of agriculture. "This will reduce barriers and expand access for Ukrainian goods to these markets," the head of government explained.
