Ukraine has received expensive mobile F-16 flight simulators in addition to stationary ones, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov reported on social media on Thursday, UNN reports.
Ukraine received mobile F-16 simulators - we are accelerating pilot training and strengthening sky protection
The Minister noted that F-16 fighter jets are already protecting the Ukrainian sky. To increase the efficiency of intercepting aerial targets, it is necessary to improve pilot training and reduce the time from training to combat deployment.
"With the support of partners, in addition to stationary ones, we received mobile F-16 simulators. There are only a few of them in the entire world due to their high cost, and some are already in Ukraine. This is an opportunity to continuously train our pilots, effectively transitioning to NATO standards in their training," the head of the defense department emphasized.
As Fedorov noted, thanks to the simulators, pilots "practice complex combat scenarios even before takeoff":
- reaction speed and decision-making;
- situational awareness in dynamic combat;
- execution of specific combat missions in a simulated environment.
"The simulators are designed specifically for our requirements and technical specifications and take into account the geographical features of Ukraine. The key advantage is mobility. We can quickly move the simulators, which is critically important for the safety of pilots under conditions of constant attacks," Fedorov indicated.
