Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha stated that Ukraine has step-by-step proposals for the reform of the OSCE, IAEA, and other institutions, as Russia's veto power in the UN is a verdict on all security, UNN reports.
The threat from Russia will not automatically disappear with the end of the war, so we in Europe need to build a long-term system of deterrence. We are effectively creating a new model of deterrence. We must reform international security institutions. We are not going to hand over the UN or the OSCE to Russia. We have step-by-step proposals for the reform of the OSCE, IAEA, and other institutions. And this could be the first step toward a broader reimagining of the entire international security system, including the UN Security Council. After all, an aggressor with veto power in the Security Council is a verdict on our entire security
He added that "we cannot be hostages to the multilateral confrontation of certain permanent members of the Security Council."
As a reminder
The United Nations has stated there is a dangerous escalation of the war in Ukraine following the latest large-scale Russian strikes and threats of new attacks.
