US President Donald Trump's peace council has received only a fraction of the promised funds for Gaza's reconstruction, complicating the implementation of the relevant plan. Reuters reports this, citing sources, writes UNN.

According to the agency's interlocutors, out of approximately $17 billion pledged by donors, less than $1 billion has actually been received. Only a few countries, including the UAE, Morocco, and the US, have made contributions.
There is no money yet
Due to financial and security problems, the US-backed National Committee for Gaza Management has not yet been able to begin operations in the enclave.
What the plan entails
The plan envisions post-war governance of Gaza by Palestinian technocrats and large-scale reconstruction after Hamas's disarmament and the withdrawal of Israeli troops. At the same time, according to international organizations, the region's reconstruction will require about $70 billion.
The Peace Council itself denied financial problems, stating that all funding requests are being met on time and in full.
