US President Donald Trump, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, and Chinese leader Xi Jinping are dividing the world into spheres of influence that are sweeping away the concept of national sovereignty in countries like European ones. This was stated in an interview with The Independent by former head of the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) Sir Alex Younger, reports UNN.

In this context, he stressed that the US is now undermining "a long-standing issue of trust" - both in terms of military doctrine, in particular Article 5 of the NATO Treaty, and in the "Five Eyes" intelligence-sharing system between the UK, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. According to Younger, the mess arose from the US President's decision to appoint inexperienced leaders to the highest intelligence positions.
"Whatever you think about it, it comes at a cost in terms of basic understanding of the environment in which we all operate and the threats that exist. Using a phone, an iPhone, to plan an attack that you don't want your enemy to know about is unwise," the expert noted.
