Despite the incessant shelling by the aggressor, power engineers are conducting an unprecedented repair campaign. Deputy Head of the Ministry of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk said this on the air of "We-Ukraine", UNN reports.
"The situation in the power system remains difficult as the enemy continues to shell civilian energy infrastructure. Just over the past day, we have had attacks in Chernihiv region, where the situation is the most difficult in the frontline areas. One of the largest repair campaigns in Ukraine's history is underway today, repairing both generation facilities and the distribution network," he said.
Kolisnyk reminded that Ukraine suffered eight complex attacks on energy facilities over the year, resulting in the loss of more than nine gigawatts of power. In response to these challenges, one of the largest repair campaigns in the country's history has been launched, covering both generation facilities and distribution networks.

"Today, the repair campaign is not aimed at preparing as much equipment as possible for the heating season. In particular, Energoatom is doing everything necessary to ensure that the next heating season is held at maximum capacity. That is why repairs are carried out, in particular, during the warm season. In particular, on the instructions of Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko, the repair campaign is structured in such a way that all nine NPP units are in operation in winter, when the power system is at its peak. Nuclear generation is currently one of the key generators that covers the vast majority of consumption - up to 60%. Therefore, it is an important component of the heating season," he said.
The Deputy Minister also noted the important work being done by heat and power companies, hydropower companies and distribution network workers.
