Context
On Sunday, the Indian newspaper Economic Times published a report in which Hasina accused the United States of playing a role in her ouster because it wanted to gain control of Bangladesh's St. Martin Island in the Bay of Bengal. The newspaper claims that Hasina conveyed this message through her close associates.
In January, she won a fourth consecutive term in an election that the opposition boycotted and which the U.S. State Department said was not free and fair.
