The maneuvers were part of NATO's deterrence initiative on the eastern flank and were aimed at practicing counter-drone measures in mobile combat. The Flytrap exercise series launched last year and has already been held in Germany and Poland, gradually expanding due to the growing role of drones in modern conflicts.

Under the leadership of the US Army's V Corps, American units and British paratroopers practiced repelling drone attacks at the squadron level. During the exercises, the military tested more than 50 new developments, including interceptor drones, target detection systems, and unmanned ground platforms.
According to Forbes, participants also provided manufacturers with operational feedback on the effectiveness of the new systems in combat conditions. The next stage of the exercises is planned to be held at the brigade level, which will involve a significantly larger number of personnel and equipment.
