Russia continues to demonstrate its presence in the Black Sea with missile-equipped submarines, as the depth of the sea allows for such operations. This is happening against the backdrop of the Russian military being forced to leave the Sea of Azov. This was stated by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy Dmytro Pletenchuk during a telethon, according to a correspondent of UNN.
For the presence of a submarine in the Black Sea, the Russians can thus put at least one such "tick". They were forced to leave Azov. A submarine can't go fast there, because the depth there is a maximum of 15 meters, so it would be cramped even in a surface position. In the Black Sea, however, the depth allows you to be present in principle. So they are trying to demonstrate this presence in this way. They have no particular desire to go out with surface boats
He notes that the Russians cannot afford to put a large number of units to sea.
"For a long time now, they have been able to go out only by submarines, which can carry up to 4 missiles. Using these missiles as a separate weapon system is not effective for them," Pletenchuk says.
He adds that Russians can only use the calibers during combined attacks, only to load Ukrainian air defense, and the use of Crimea as a platform for launching shaheds has already been reduced to zero.
