Now all state bodies are working on the possibility of partial opening of Ukrainian airspace, but due to the very high level of threats, this remains unlikely in the short term  . This was stated by Deputy Minister of community and Territory Development Timur Tkachenko on the air of the telethon, reports UNN.

Tkachenko commented on the information about the possible resumption of air traffic and the potential opening of airports in Lviv and Kiev.

"A lot of information is distributed by the network and in general there are many different discussions around this. I would like to emphasize that  the restoration of air traffic depends on the security situation in the country. Now all state bodies are working on the possibility of partial opening of the airspace, but due to the very high level of threats, this remains unlikely in the short term," Tkachenko said.

He noted that special attention is paid to the possible opening of airports in Boryspil and Lviv, which are the most key for passenger transportation.

"It is also an interesting fact that very often there are comparisons with Israel, but it should be understood that the situations are significantly different. For years, Israel has been building a powerful air defense system that allows it to quickly respond to threats. In Ukraine, the enemy uses a different type of missile, and the defense system has not yet reached the necessary level for the safe opening of airspace. Given the latest types of missiles used by the Russian Federation, this fact should be taken into account very carefully. Therefore, it is too early to talk about a partial opening," Tkachenko said.

At the end of October, Ukraine presented a roadmap for opening airspace under martial law, presenting a step-by-step plan and needs for partial opening of airspace.

On November 7 , Crispin Ellison, senior partner of insurance broker Marsh McLennan, stated at the Kiev International Economic Forum (Kief) that there are 5-6 airlines that would like to start flying in the Ukrainian airspace from January 2025. Boryspil Airport is an initial idea. But everything will depend on the protection of the air.
