The European Union Aviation Safety Agency has added Jordan to the list of countries banned for flights. The reason was the rapid deterioration of the security situation due to military activity.

On Wednesday, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) added Jordan to the list of countries with which flights are prohibited and asked airlines to refrain from flying in this airspace as the security situation rapidly deteriorated, Reuters reports.

Iran is striking targets in Jordan and other Gulf countries amid the renewed conflict. Two U.S. servicemen were killed in an attack on the Muwaffaq Salti air base in Jordan over the past weekend.

"Since mid-July 2026, the security situation has rapidly deteriorated, with a steady increase in military activity affecting Jordan's airspace," the EASA statement said.

The agency already recommends that airlines avoid the airspace of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Iraq and Lebanon.
