The amount of losses due to the downtime of hydrocarbon production at the Sakhalin field can be estimated at about UAH 3 billion. This was reported by the head of the ARMA, Olena Duma, UNN reports.
"Those responsible for the downtime of hydrocarbon production at the Sakhalin field must be held accountable. The National Agency is already working with law enforcement agencies. Yesterday, by the decision of the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal, the license for gas production at the Sakhalin field was renewed, which was a significant victory for the ARMA in the interests of the state. However, the state has already suffered billions of dollars in losses due to the suspension of hydrocarbon production," Duma wrote.
She noted that those responsible for this damage to national interests should be held fairly accountable.
"The ARMA has already applied to law enforcement agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice," Duma said.
She also noted that the revocation of the special permit for gas production in December last year was not only in violation of national interests, but also caused significant losses for the state.
"Under the management agreement with ARMA alone, the state budget could have received at least another UAH 1 billion, as well as taxes and other local fees. The total amount of losses can be estimated at about UAH 3 billion. The agency has already filed a corresponding statement with law enforcement agencies," Duma said.
In addition, she said, in this regard, a separate court ruling was also issued yesterday against the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine (Derzhgeonadr), sent to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and the Office of the Prosecutor General (OPG).
She also said that on Thursday, August 8, the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) will consider the application of the former owners of the Sakhalin field to cancel the seizure of property and transfer property rights to the ARMA. The Agency is ready for this hearing and will continue to defend the interests of the state.
"ARMA will take all necessary measures and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to ensure revenues to the state budget through the management of seized assets," Duma added.
