Local self-government bodies and the government of Ukraine should focus on supporting small and medium-sized businesses, and not introduce VAT for individual entrepreneurs. This was stated by Kharkiv Mayor, head of the Association of Frontline Cities and Communities (AFCC) Ihor Terekhov in an interview with "Radio NV".

Details

The mayor of Kharkiv emphasized that in wartime conditions, it is impossible to put pressure on entrepreneurs, who are the basis of the state's economy. He categorically opposed the planned introduction of mandatory VAT payment for individual entrepreneurs whose annual income exceeds UAH 1 million. According to him, this will create an additional burden and may lead to a reduction in the number of enterprises.

Small business during the war is the foundation of the country. And it is very important to support it, not to burden it. Everything must be done economically soundly... Small business cannot be oppressed

- emphasized Ihor Terekhov.

He also thanked entrepreneurs who continue their activities in Kharkiv, despite the attacks.

Terekhov noted that more than 127,000 individual entrepreneurs are currently operating in the city, which is more than before the war. To support them, the city council decided to cancel all local taxes and fees to allow entrepreneurs to direct working capital to purchase materials, pay salaries, and create jobs.

Recall

The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine stated that it does not plan to introduce a reconstruction tax after the war ends.
