Ukraine and Slovakia discussed the topic of humanitarian demining, and Slovakia provided 2 mechanized demining machines and other engineering equipment. This was reported by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko, UNN reports.
Among other things, they discussed measures to improve security on the common border, as well as the fight against transnational crime.
"We focused separately on humanitarian demining. I thanked Slovakia for the important technical assistance for the pyrotechnics of the SES of Ukraine. These are two mechanized demining machines and engineering equipment. They will help to clear the de-occupied settlements of Kherson region of explosive hazards faster and more efficiently. And what is extremely important, this equipment helps to save the lives of our sappers," Klymenko wrote.
He added that in addition, the focus was on the implementation of the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine on radiation and nuclear safety. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Slovakia signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of radiation, chemical, biological and nuclear safety at the border.
