Details
Mr. Shmyhal noted that the main goal of this forum is to unite efforts to restore Ukraine and attract American investment in our economy.
The Ukrainian prime minister shared with potential investors the best practices already in place in Ukraine's economy and outlined the government's steps to transform our country. In particular, he noted that thanks to the Black Sea trade corridor, Ukraine has almost reached pre-war export volumes and continues to develop the Danube port cluster.
In addition, according to the politician, public-private partnerships in Ukraine are gaining new momentum. Deregulation and the abolition of permits are gaining momentum, and new industrial parks are emerging.
Large investors can receive unique tax and regulatory benefits. A four-year program with the IMF is in place. A four-year program with the EU, the Ukraine Facility, has been launched. Now we are waiting and working to get support from the United States.
Shmyhal also focused on the development of the defense industry.
Strong military assistance from the United States is as important for the investment climate as any other change. In fact, the defense industry is one of the key areas where Ukraine and the United States can build a unique partnership that will benefit the entire democratic world.
