SBU employee "traded in military deferments," detained while taking a $34,000 bribe - Prosecutor General

An SBU employee was selling fictitious mobilization deferments for $8,500. He was detained while receiving a bribe in the amount of $34,000.

An SBU employee who, along with an accomplice, "traded in reservations," was detained while taking a bribe of 34,000 dollars. This was reported by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko, according to UNN.

The illegal activities of a current SBU officer and his entrepreneur accomplice, who organized a scheme for the fictitious employment of men to obtain a deferment from mobilization, have been exposed and stopped

According to the Prosecutor General, the cost of such "services" was 8,500 US dollars per person. For this money, men were registered as employees of the enterprise only "on paper" – without actually performing work or being present at the workplace.

The scheme was uncovered after one of the potential "clients" turned to law enforcement. Further documentation of the illegal activity and the transfer of funds took place under the control of operatives.

Today, the SBU employee was detained directly while receiving 34,000 US dollars. The issue of notifying him of suspicion and selecting a preventive measure is currently being decided. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. We are identifying other persons involved in the functioning of this scheme. The crime was exposed through the joint work of prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General and the internal security of the Security Service of Ukraine. We continue our work
