Law enforcement officers have completed the investigation into the criminal proceedings regarding the illegal enrichment of the former head of the Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support. The indictment has been sent to court. This was reported by UNN with reference to the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation.

The investigation revealed the facts of the purchase of luxury cars in Ukraine by family members of the suspect with their subsequent transfer abroad, as well as the purchase of luxury real estate abroad, totaling more than UAH 190 million.
The SBI adds that the difference between the value of the acquired assets and the legal income of the defendant and his family members is more than UAH 140 million. The origin of these funds is not confirmed by any documents.
Currently, the defense has begun to familiarize itself with the materials of the proceedings, after which the case will be transferred to court.The defendant is suspected under Art. 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal enrichment). He faces up to ten years in prison with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years

During the pre-trial investigation, the Bureau collected a huge amount of evidence of its own. To ensure a full and impartial investigation, we also studied media reports.
The materials of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) were also investigated, which also revealed signs of illegal enrichment of the former Odesa military commissar in excess of UAH 188 million.
In particular, one of the journalistic investigations showed that last year the military commissar's mother became the owner of a residential building in Spain worth more than 4 million euros. It also turned out that, in addition to elite foreign real estate, she also purchased a Mercedes-Benz EQV car for almost UAH 3 million this year.
Later, law enforcement officers found out that the ex-military commander's mother-in-law had also become the owner of an expensive car fleet in recent years, without having sufficient funds of legal origin. It included: Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG, Toyota Land Cruiser.
The ex-military commander's wife also purchased another foreign property - an office space in Spain worth 737 thousand euros, also without having enough legally obtained assets and income for this.
The investigation was carried out in close cooperation with law enforcement agencies of foreign countries, to which the State Bureau of Investigation expresses its deep gratitude for their contribution to the case

Communications Advisor of the State Bureau of Investigation Tetyana Sapyan said that the Foreign Intelligence Service is helping the State Bureau of Investigation to identify and confirm the assets of the family of the former Odesa military commander abroad.
In addition, in a short period of time, just over two months, the investigation has already collected 40 volumes of materials.
