SBU officers in Odesa prevented the contract killing of a commander of a Special Operations Forces unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They detained an agent of Russian special services who was recruited through Viktor Medvedchuk's political project "Another Ukraine." This was reported by UNN with reference to the Security Service of Ukraine.
Details
As the investigation established, the perpetrator installed a GPS tracker on the military's car, which the killer was supposed to use to track and kill the Ukrainian soldier with a firearm.
The detainee was a resident of Kirovohrad region who had lived in Russia for the previous 15 years.
There, the woman hoped to receive legal assistance after being accused of theft. However, instead of legal consultations, representatives of the former MP "handed over" the suspect to FSB officers. In exchange for "closing the case," Russian special services "dispatched" the agent to Odesa to prepare an assassination attempt on the commander of the SSO unit
The woman was detained "red-handed" immediately after planting the GPS tracker, as she was heading by taxi towards the state border of Ukraine. She was likely trying to leave for Russia through third countries.
During searches, a smartphone was found and seized from her, which she used to coordinate her actions with her FSB handler under the guise of "close" relationships.
The detainee was notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law). She faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
