Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Presidential Administration, believes that there are three degrees of political naivety regarding the war in Ukraine. He wrote about this in Telegram, UNN reports.
Details
He called the belief that the annexation of the occupied Ukrainian territories would force russia to stop the war political naivety.
It is naïve to believe that adding another 100,000 square kilometers of occupied Ukrainian territory to the 17 million square kilometers of its own territory is Russia's ultimate goal. The second degree of political naivety is to hope that the regime, which has sacrificed hundreds of thousands of its citizens, economic prospects, international reputation, and the future of its state in general, will be adequate enough to negotiate for the sake of increasing its territory by 0.6%. And for the sake of large-scale demonstrative destruction of the civilian population of another country in modern times
He also noted that the russians will not honor any agreements.
The third and fatal step is to assume that the Russians are going to abide by the terms of any treaties they sign. What about the papers on which putin/patrushev-type actors put their signatures?
He also says that if Ukraine is forced to make territorial concessions for the sake of peace, it will have a negative impact on the future of the whole of Europe.
Obviously, one can hardly find so much political naivete anywhere today. But if so, where does this strange desire to force Ukraine to make peace with the aggressor at the cost of territorial concessions come from? It is absolutely clear what will happen to Ukraine, Europe, democracy and international law in general
Recall
According to The Washington Post, US presidential candidate Donald Trump's plan to end a full-scale war in 24 hours is to pressure Ukraine to cede part of its territory to russia.
