President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke with absolute world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk on the eve of his fight with British Tyson Fury. The conversation took place in the format of a video link, UNN reports.
What they talked about
Usyk said that the last week before a fight is a period of waiting, because when you train every day, time doesn't last so long.
"In any case, we are keeping our fingers crossed for you. I really want a victory for Ukraine. Each of your victories cheers up and energizes Ukrainians. Everyone is a big fan of your talent, your courage, your strength and your success. Everyone is on your side. Of course, Britain is helping Ukraine in the fight against Russia. We respect them, but when you beat Fury, remember: there's not much they can do to prevent us from banning Storm Shadow," the president jokingly added.
Usyk responded to this: "With great respect, this is just a sport.
He also said that his family remains in Ukraine: "The girls are holding Kyiv, but my wife is on her way to me. Thank God, we will keep the Ukrainian spirit, we will go on as we are doing to the end.
Zelensky wished Usyk a strong fight and victory.
"You know what to do with the rest. Your experience is enough," the president added.
Usyk also wished the President strength and courage in his interaction with international partners and added:
"And if you need some physical strength there, Vladimir Alexandrovich, I'm ready - throw the geolocation.
