Nearly 200 reports for returning from AWOL have been submitted via "Army+", 51 of which have already been approved. This mechanism can be used until September 20, 2026.

Nearly 200 servicemen have already submitted reports to return from unauthorized leave (AWOL) within a few days via the "Army+" app. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov.

Details

As the Minister noted, 51 of these have been approved, and the servicemen have been given the opportunity to continue their service in their chosen units.

One of the servicemen who took advantage of this opportunity is a fighter with the call sign Hor. He initially served in an electronic warfare unit, but later his unit was disbanded.

While being AWOL, the fighter used the return mechanism through "Army+", chose a new unit, and returned to service after his report was approved. He is currently serving in the 412th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade "NEMESIS".

"I initially joined as a volunteer. I didn't plan to go AWOL, but circumstances turned out that way. Later, while I was looking for a unit while being AWOL, I watched many different videos. Friends and brothers-in-arms recommended the 'NEMESIS' unit. I filled out a report through 'Army+'. After it was approved, a recruiter called me. I was also offered a position as an operator of ground robotic systems,"

 - says Hor.

At the same time, Fedorov added: if the unauthorized leave was recorded before June 12, 2026, servicemen can return to service via the "Army+" app. A report for return can be submitted through the application until September 20, 2026.

Recall

Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov, together with Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov, held an online meeting with over 300 military personnel — representatives of 168 brigades and corps. During the meeting, they discussed the transformation of the Defense Forces, as well as changes in the recruitment and mobilization system.
