French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed a "profound shift in approach" toward Ukraine with the rapprochement between the US and Europe, UNN reports, citing the Guardian.
Macron says the agreed-upon wording marks a "very profound shift in approach," including a "clear willingness" by the US to cooperate with Europeans in supporting Ukraine.
He also criticized Russia for its lack of real intent to participate in the peace process.
Macron added that the discussions were "extremely frank" and "useful," but concluded with an "evolution" of people's positions, which helped them "rethink" their views on Ukraine.
