Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba outlined two principles of participation in the peace process. He emphasized respect for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity during a meeting with his Chinese counterpart.

Ukraine can take part in the peace process if two principles are respected: no agreements on Ukraine without Ukraine and full respect for its sovereignty and territorial integrity. This was announced by Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba following a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi. The Ukrainian official posted the video on Instagram, UNN reports .

He said that he explained to his Chinese counterpart, using the example of history and current events, that Ukraine “did not bend” to any ultimatum from Vladimir Putin, being under a terrible military attack from the Russian dictator.

“And Ukraine will never, ever, not one centimeter bend if anyone in the world, regardless of where they come from, tries to speak to us in the language of ultimatums. It is simply impossible. President Zelenskyy is not like that, the state of Ukraine is not like that, and, most importantly, the Ukrainian people are not like that,” the Ukrainian Foreign Minister said.

Instead, Kuleba emphasized to Wang Yi two principles that must be strictly adhered to: no agreements on Ukraine without Ukraine and full respect for its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Subject to these two principles, Ukraine can “have any conversations and look for any solutions,” the head of Ukrainian diplomacy said.

Instead, the official noted, during the talks, China “unshakably reaffirmed its respect” for the principle of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Kuleba noted that this fact is very important, as it “removes a number of insinuations.

Wang Yi also agreed that we do not need an illusion of peace, but a just and sustainable peace, that is, “we should not seek any temporary solutions,” the Ukrainian Foreign Minister explained.

The official also informed his colleague about the peace formula, the Peace Summit, and Ukraine's next steps.

China did not participate in the Peace Summit, and on the eve of the event, President Zelenskyy said that Russia was trying to disrupt the Peace Summit and that China was helping it. However, even after this statement, Ukraine and China held political consultations in Beijing, with the delegation headed by First Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Sybiga.

“Then we talked about broader things... that Ukraine will become a member of the EU - and Ukrainian-Chinese relations should be viewed through this prism,” Kuleba said.

According to him, China's commitment to developing trade and bilateral relations is palpable, as it offers “huge economic opportunities.

The Ukrainian side also wants closer relations between Ukrainian regions and Chinese regions.

The Foreign Minister summarized: despite the broad agenda, with peace at the center of attention, Ukraine continues to talk to China.
