Many demonstrators waved the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran or held posters depicting Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader, who was killed at the beginning of the American-Israeli war.
In the western city of Kermanshah, photos published by the semi-official Mehr news agency showed protesters in front of a power plant with a banner that read: "Attacks on electricity infrastructure are considered a war crime." In the north of the country, protesters in front of a power plant in Semnan chanted "Death to America! Death to Israel!", according to a video published by the reformist newspaper Shargh.
The Iranian government has organized rallies in support throughout the war. It is unclear whether today's demonstrations were spontaneous or planned.
