Iran has submitted a new proposal to Washington regarding the termination of the war. This is reported by The Wall Street Journal, according to UNN.
Details
It is noted that Tehran's proposal contains "hints of compromise in an attempt to restart negotiations to end a confrontation that is costing its economy dearly."
Thus, according to the publication's sources, Tehran took a step toward the US by offering to discuss terms for opening the Strait of Hormuz simultaneously with US guarantees regarding the cessation of attacks and the lifting of the blockade on Iranian ports. Furthermore, Iran is ready to discuss its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of US sanctions.
However, according to people familiar with the matter, the parties remain far apart on substantive issues regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and Iran's nuclear program, suggesting that negotiations will continue to be tense
It is indicated that Tehran has signaled to mediators that it is ready to sit down at the negotiating table in Pakistan as early as the beginning of next week, provided Washington is open to the new proposal.
