In Ukraine, almost 10% of the planned area has been sown with grain: the leaders of the sowing campaign

In Ukraine, more than 550,000 hectares of grain have already been sown during the spring sowing campaign, or almost 10% of the planned area, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported on Friday, UNN writes.

As of March 28, 2025, farmers of all regions of Ukraine have sown 551.8 thousand hectares of spring grain and leguminous crops. Sowing of sugar beets and soybeans has also begun

Currently, the largest area of crops, as indicated, is barley - 315.5 thousand hectares. 79.8 thousand hectares of spring wheat, 102.9 thousand hectares of peas, and 50.7 thousand hectares of oats have already been sown.

Leading regions in terms of sowing rates:

• Mykolaiv region: 60.1 thousand hectares (wheat - 3 thousand hectares, barley - 32 thousand hectares, peas - 24.5 thousand hectares, oats - 0.6 thousand hectares);
• Ternopil region: 58.1 thousand hectares (wheat - 14 thousand hectares, barley - 36.8 thousand hectares, peas - 3.7 thousand hectares, oats - 3.6 thousand hectares);
• Vinnytsia region: 53 thousand hectares (wheat - 10.4 thousand hectares, barley - 34.5 thousand hectares, peas - 7 thousand hectares, oats - 1.1 thousand hectares);
• Kirovohrad region: 48.8 thousand hectares (wheat - 1.5 thousand hectares, barley - 29.7 thousand hectares, peas - 16.5 thousand hectares);
• Volyn region: 47 thousand hectares (wheat - 9 thousand hectares, barley - 14 thousand hectares, peas - 4 thousand hectares, oats - 20 thousand hectares).

Sugar beets are sown on an area of 17.8 thousand hectares.

Soybeans are sown on an area of 0.6 thousand hectares.
